CAF TotalEnergies Champions League, TotalEnergies Confederation Cup kickoff.    

Both competitions kicked off four months of activity this past week end with the games of the finals next May to be played on home and away basis. It was a resolution  of the CAF Executive Committee in July, 2022.

The CAF TotalEnergies Champions League whose current holders are Widad Athletic Club of Casablanca registered the following scores in match day 1 of 6 with Raja CA showing no mercy to visiting Vipers: Horoya 1 0 Simba; ES Tunis 1 0 Al-Merrikh; Mamelodi Sundowns 1 0 Al-Hilal; Pétro de Luanda 0 0 JS Kabylie; Raja CA 5 0 Vipers; Zamalek 0 1 CR Belouizdad. Match day 2 of 6 will hold on Friday, 17 February and Saturday, 18 February.

TP Mazembe, Gallants, Diables Noirs and US Monastir  capitalized on their home settings to make brave strides in the opening round of the CAF TotalEnergies Confederation Cup whose current champions are RS Berkane. The following scores were registered in match day 1 of 6: TP Mazembe 3 1 Réal Bamako; Gallants 4 1 Al Akhdar; ASEC 0 0 Motema Pembe; ASKO 1 1 Future; Diables Noirs 3 0 Rivers United; Monastir 2 0 Young Africans; USM Algiers 3 0 St. Eloi Lupopo; Pyramids 2 2 FAR Rabat. Match day 2 of 6 will be played on Sunday, 19 February.
