*Tunisia avoided losing in each of 2 matches of their World Cup history against the active champions, 0-0 vs Germany in 1978 and 1-0 now vs France.

*Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia), being born in France, became the 2nd player at this World Cup edition to score against his native country, after Breel Embolo (for Switzerland vs Cameroon).

*Khazri became the first African player in World Cup history to score at 3 consecutive starts (including 2 games in 2018 edition).
