David Luiz: 12th player to win both Champions League and Copa Libertadores

One of players that won 2022 Copa Libertadores with Flamengo is David Luiz, the 35-year old defender who became 10 years ago the club champion also in Europa winning Champions League with Chelsea.
The Brazilian is 12th player in the history that has won biggest club trophies in both leading football continents. They all are from just two countries, Brazil (9 players) and Argentina (3).
The first such player was Juan Pablo Sorín who won Champions League with Juventus and Copa Libertadores with River Plate. He is also the only player from these 12 to win both tournaments in the same year (1996).
Only the players who appeared for at least 1 game in any of victorious tournaments are included in the list.
So, Santiago Solari, Champions League winner with Real Madrid in 2002, is not joined though he was River Plate player in their triumphal 1996 season (no appearances in Copa Libertadores).
Willy Caballero is another such case: won Copa Libertadores with Boca Juniors in 2003 and made no appearances with Chelsea in their victorious Champions League campaign (2020-21).
