IFFHS ranking for one-edition goal-scorers in continental championships
Vincent Aboubakar (Cameroon) became the AFCON 2021 top goal-scorer with 8 goals. As we have already reported, this is the 2nd one-edition result in the history of the tournament (only 1 goal behind the record). Besides, this is one of the best feats in the history of all continental championships.
For the first time we publish the ranking of the best goal-scorers in a single edition of any confederation’s championship. Data for six confederations are taken into account:
European Nations' Cup/UEFA European Championship,
South American Championship/CONMEBOL Copa América,
CONCACAF Championship/Gold Cup,
Africa Cup of Nations,
AFC Asian Cup,
OFC Nations Cup.
