THE AWARD 2021 TO FC BARCELONA
Established since 2012, the ranking of THE WOMEN'S WORLD BEST CLUB saw the domination of two clubs, Olympique Lyonnais (winner 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) and VFL Wolfsburg (winner 2013, 2014) until this year ! For the first time, FC Barcelona broke this domination and is crowned as the sovereign winner of the Award 2021 with a huge advance ! Barcelona won all titles (Primera Division, Copa del Spain, UEFA ChampionsLeague) and also 4 other IFFHS World awards (Alexia Putellas best Player and Playmaker, Luis Cortes best club coach, Jennifer Hermoso best Top Goal scorer). FC Barcelona became also the FIRST CLUB IN HISTORY to win the CLUB WORLD RANKING in the two categories Men (1997, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015) and Women (2021) !
