Marta Vieira da Silva, known as Marta, born 19 February 1986 in Dois Riches (Brazil), is regarded as the greatest woman footballer of all time, earning comparisons with Ronaldinho and Pelé himself due to her exceptional technical skill and vision !

Aged only 33, she has been named FIFA Player of the Year six times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2018) and has won the first IFFHS woman Award of THE WORLD’S BEST PLAYMAKER in 2012 ! She participated with the Brazil National team at 5 FIFA World Cups (2003 to 2019) and 4 Olympic Tournaments (2004 to 2016), winning 3 Silver Medals with Brazil in the World Cup 2007, the Olympics 2004 and 2008 ! She played 151 matches with Brazil (117 goals) and was named Golden Ball (Best Player) and Golden Shoe (Best Goal Scorer) at the World Cup 2007.

She began her club career in Brazil (Vasco de Game in 2000) before moving to Sweden in 2004, where she stayed four seasons at Umea IK. She won there the UEFA Women’s Cup 2003/04, 4 Sweden Championships (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) and scored 111 goals in 103 matches, reaching two other times the final of the UEFA Women’s Cup ! She was Playmaker and Goal Scorer in the same time and was crowned as the World’s Best Player five years in a row from 2006 to 2010.


Marta holds two WORLD RECORDS for Women and Men at the FIFA World Cups : 1 – for the most goals scored : 17 goals  and 2 – she is the first to score at 5 World Cup editions !

She joined then Los Angeles Sol in USA, before going back to Santos in Brazil and win the Copa Libertadores and the Copa da Brasil in 2010 with 26 goals in 14 matches ! The same year she signed with FC Gold Pride in the US Women’s Professional Soccer and won the Championship with 19 goals in 24 matches. Direction Western New York Flash in 2011 where Marta won again the US Championship ! She was Top Goal Scorer each year in Sweden, Brazil and USA , winning also the MVP Award in USA !

In 2012, she went back to Sweden and signed at Tyresö FF. In two years she scored 27 goals in 38 matches, won the Sweden Championship 2012 and was runner-up at the UEFA Champions League final 2013/14. She stayed in Sweden to continue with FC Rosengard during three other years (2014-2017). 23 goals in 43 matches later, she won two other Sweden Championships before moving in 2017 to Orlando Pride in USA joining US Star Alex Morgan. She was named in the IFFHS World Team of the Year 2018, winning the same year the FIFA Award ! She scored again 23 goals in 55 matches since 2017 with Orlando and is currently playing there for the  new season.
