Picture : With beating Belgium 2-1, Italy established the new record on consecutive wins in the games of European championships (including qualification) – 15.
The previous record of Germany (14 wins in 2010-12) was also equaled by Belgium during the current edition of Euro.

*Italy is the 2nd team in the Euro history to win all their first 5 matches in a single edition, after France in 1984 (which won 5 out of 5).
*Italian Serie A players have already scored 33 goals combined in Euro 2020: the new absolute record of any league in any edition of the tournament. The previous record was 30 English Premier League goals in Euro 2016. The goal of Insigne yesterday on the picture !
*Romelu Lukaku increased his tally in Euro finals to 6 goals. Only 4 players have scored more in the history of competition (Cristiano Ronaldo, Platini, Shearer and Griezmann).
*Spain are the 6th team to progress from two separate knockout matches of a single Euro edition that went to extra-time. All five previous such teams went on to win the competition.
*With Spain vs Switzerland game, 5 extra-times have already been played at Euro 2020: so, the current edition equal the record of 5 extra-times registered in the 1996 and 2016. Yann Sommer, the swiss Goalkeeper, made it possible for his team to reach the 120 minutes without losing !
*Spain has equaled its national record of goals (12) in a major tournament (World Cup and Euro). The same amount was scored in Euro 2008 and in Euro 2012 (both times Spain was champion).
*Denis Zakaria's (Switzerland) own goal is the 10th at Euro 2020: one more than were scored at all of the previous 15 Euro editions combined (9).
*Pedri (Spain) is the first ever player to start in 5 games of Euro finals at the age of 18 years or below. There was one such player in World Cup history: Northern Ireland's Norman Whiteside (started 5 times aged 17 at the 1982 World Cup).
*Switzerland reached their maximal stage (quarterfinal) at major tournaments (World Cup and Euro) for 4th time. They have lost their previous three such games, all at World Cups 2-3 vs Czechoslovakia (1934), 0-2 vs Hungary (1938) and 5-7 vs Austria (1954).
