Gábor Király (Hungary) is the oldest player in the history of the Euro final stages. He has played on Euro 2016 at the age of 40 years 86 days. So far, he is only one of all the participants who crossed the age mark of 40 years.
Lothar Matthäus (picture down) has played on the Euro at the age of 39, eight other players at 38.



Jens Lehmann (Germany) is the oldest player to appear in a final game (38 years 232 days, vs  Spain, 2008).
Arnold Mühren (Netherlands) is the oldest player to appear in a final winning team (37 years 23 days, vs  Soviet Union, 1988).
The forward of Czechoslovakia Ladislav Pavlovic (Euro 1960) has the earliest date of birth among all participants of the final tournaments: April 8, 1926.
