Goalkeeper Oscar Perez Rojas (born 1 February 1973 inMexico City) broke an historic record last July of games played in Mexican Football First Division with 726 appearances in the current Apertura. He began his career with Cruz Azul against Atlas (0-0) the 21 August 1993 and broke the record with his team of Pachuca (on loan from Cruz Azul) the 23 July 2017 in Mexico against Puma UNAM (1-0). At 44 years old, he is currently the oldest active player in Liga MX. He has been capped 54 times for the Mexico National team since 1997 and played 4 games at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and 2010 FIFA World Cup, winning the FIFA Confederations Cup in 1999. From 1997 to 2007 he was the starting goalkeeper for Cruz Azul and won the 1997 Winter Championship. He moved on loan from 2008 to 2013 to 4 mexican clubs before going also on loan to Pachuca since 2013. He won there the CONCACAF Champions League and broke there two records : the oldest player to score in the Liga MX (29 April 2017) and the record of games played (23 July 2017). His dream is to play the FIFA World Club Championship with Pachuca in December and retire from activity in that competition.
